Yves set up his own design office in 1995 after working in a company where he provided turnkey solutions for industrial acoustics. He holds a D.E.A. in applied acoustics after a deug in acoustics and music, a bachelor’s degree in audiovisual techniques and a master’s degree in mechanics.
He taught for many years at the INSA in Rennes, at the Ecole d’Architecture de Bretagne and at the Université du Maine in Le Mans. ns. For almost 20 years, he has been an expert at the Rennes Court of Appeal and the Nantes Administrative Court of Appeal. He has a wealth of experience in the field of acoustics: several bank and major company head offices, cinema complexes, sound and image studios, regional music schools and conservatoires, swimming pools, secondary schools, large Arena-type auditoriums, hospitals and clinics, acoustic test cells in the automotive industry and for underwater research. He also advises architects in charge of historic monuments. He has carried out numerous workshop treatments, including large naval and aeronautical hulls, and regularly carries out environmental impact studies (road noise) and factory studies (ICPE, noise mapping).
During his university career, he worked as a radio and television sound technician at France 3 Alsace in Strasbourg.
His design office, Acoustique Yves Hernot, joined the Acoustique & Conseil group in 2024.
